QB HUEBNER Brian '90 '89-'90 2 time All-City selection.  Won Kiwanis Award as senior.  Also won Kiwanis for basketball.  One of only 4 players to top 2,000 yards passing in a career.  Also an excellent punter.
RB STEWART David '84 '84 5'10" 160lb speedster who averaged nearly 8 yards per carry in senior season.  Named All-City despite missing final two games with injury.  Gained 983 yards rushing and returned a kickoff 85 yards for a TD versus Castle.
RB PARCHMAN Darren '87   Track star who rushed for over 800 yards in his career.  Had 5 scores in career from further than 50 yards out--three rushing, one kickoff return, one pass reception, and one punt return.  Held city 100 meter dash record for 20 years.    
WR JONES Robbie '81 '81 6'0" 175lb.  A real deep threat.  Caught 31 balls for over 700 yards and 6 touchdowns in career.  Averaged over 23 yards per catch.  Also did double duty as the place kicker.
WR MERRIWEATHER Carl '87 '87 5'9" 145lb.  Two year 2-way starter.  Actually named to All-City as a defender but had even better skills as a receiver.  38 career receptions for over 600 yards.  Had two 100 yard games as senior.  
TE HOBGOOD Greg '80 '80 6'0" 185lb.  Two year 2 way starter.  Caught 20 balls for nearly 300 yards and two touchdowns.  Excellent blocker.  Could have made team at defensive end as well.  Recorded 57 solo tackles from his end position as a senior.
OL KNEER Jeff '81 '80-'81 2 time All-City selection. 6'0" 215lb.  Selected as guard as a junior and tackle as a senior.
OL SMITH Scott '89 '89 5'10" 190lb.  Named to All-City by both newspapers.  Guard who played bigger than he was.
OL CARL Marc '86 '86 6'1" 210lb.  Named to All-City by both newspapers.  Kiwanis Award winner.  Two year 2-way starter.  A run stopper on defense,  he recorded 55 solo tackles in his career. 
OL WALTS Mark '85   Excellent run blocker.  Kiwanis Award winner.  Played 4 years for Austin Peay University in college.
OL HUEBNER Roger '83   Solid offensive guard who doubled on defense as well.  Quick feet enabled him to lead sweeps.  Speed also helped on defense where he recorded 39 solo tackles and 39 assists as a senior.
K BERRY Chris '88 '88 6-0" 175lb all-around athlete.  Could have made team as a runner, passer, or defender but was a standout kicker.  Only player in NHS history to record a 50 yard field goal.  One paper selected him at kicker while the other named him All-City at defensive back.

DB GREEN Brad '83 '82-'83 Two time All-City selection.  Incredibly fast, he ran down future NFL running back Mark Higgs of Owensbor Sr from behind twice in one game.  6'1" 165lb.  Had four interceptions and played quarterback on offense.
DB FARMER David '81 '81 5'10" 170lb.  All-City selection by both newspapers.  Talented back who could play equally well against the run or the pass.  As a senior, he caused and recovered two fumbles, intercepted 3 passes, caught 3 toudowns, and rushed for over 100 yards.
DB SUMMERS Thad '80 '80 6'0" 170lb.  Excellent cover man, could stick with any receiver.  Picked off two passes in game against Terre Haute North.  Recorded 46 solo tackles from his cornerback spot as a senior.
DB WHEELER Hank '90   5'10" 170lb.  Opportunistic defensive back, lead NHS in interceptions for the decade of the 80's with ten.  Tied for third all-time in career interceptions.
LB MOONEY Ben '88 '88 6'0" 205lb.  Named Courier Defensive Player of the Year in 1988 even though he played for a 1-9 team.  Recognized by both papers as All-City also named All-SIAC and selected for Kiwanis Award.  Could "do it all".  Ran for 400 yards when forced into double duty.  Excellent long-snapper.
LB MILLER Brad '84 '83-'84 Two time All-City selection. 6'2" 190lb.  Had the speed to run people down and the technique to crush them.  A unanimous All-City selection his senior season when he recorded 66 solo tackles and 36 assists.
LB NEWMAN Joe '87   Versatile player with great instincts.  Recorded over 100 assists in two years as starter at linebacker.  Filled in wherever his coaches needed him to: offensive line, defensive line, linebacker, even quarterback for a three game stretch.
DL BROWN David '85 '85 6'1" 190lb.  Named to both papers' All-City teams.  Another versatile player who could play end or outside linebacker and also doubled up by playing full back on offense.  
DL LASHBROOKE David '83 '83 Nailed down twenty solo tackles from his interior line spot as a senior.  A fierce competitor.
DL MESSEL Chad '89 '89 5'10" 226lb fire plug in the middle of the line.  A force against the run.
DL HABERMEL Jason '89 '89 6'4" 218lb.  All-SIAC selection 1st team as well as member of Press All-City team.  Big man could play either tackle or end.
P NIETHAMMER Darren '82 '82 6'2" 180lb.  All around player who contributed on both sides of the line of scrimmage.  Named to All-City as punter in 1982.  He was a candidate for this squad as a defender as well.
