QB KING John '77 '77 An excellent passer.  Was on his way to school's best passing season in '77 when freak injury took him out for the remainder of the season.  A pocket passer who could spray the ball around the field.  Set NHS record for NCAA passing efficiency rating with 162.0 in 1977.
RB GARRETT Cornell '76 '75-76 Two time All-City selection.  Held nearly every school rushing record when he graduated--yards, touchdowns, and avg per carry for a season or a career.  Records stood for nearly 20 years.  Smallish at 5'9" 142lb, possessed blazing speed.  State 220 yard dash champion.
RB GARRETT Mark '79 '79 5'7" 155lb Unanimous All City selection by both papers.  Not only was he fast, he was as tough a player as there was.  Took a licking against defenses that keyed upon him and would still be breaking long runs in the 4th quarter.  Six games with over 150 yards rushing in '79.  Father of Marcus Garrett--member of the 00's All Decade Team.
WR GRAY Stoner '77 '76-'77 Two time All-City selection.  6'1" 170lb.  Like Madriaga 17 years before, he could score from anywhere on the field.  An excellent defensive back as well.  Went on to play for Indiana University.  A left handed passer with a strong arm, was often called upon to throw on reverse plays.
WR LAUER Brian '73 '73 6'0" 165lb. Two year starter.  Possessed great hands.  Caught 25 balls for 321 yards and 4 TD's senior season--a season in which the team went through three quarterbacks due to injury.  Without Lauer, the air game would have died altogether.
TE PENCE Steve '77 '77 6'3" 205lb target.  Hauled in six touchdown passes his senior season but was even more reknowned for his blocking skills.  Two year starters managed 11 catches for 130 yards and a TD as a junior before 'busting out' the following year.
OL BURKS Randy '77 '77 6'5" 210lb center.  Selected All-City by both newspapers.
OL FITCH Craig '72 '72 5'11" 175lb guard. Slight in stature but great in strength and determination.  Two year starter on defense as well.
OL DIMMETT Paul '71 '71 6'1" 180lb guard.  Excellent run blocker who could also pull and lead sweep.
OL McCASLIN Chris '79 '79 6'2" 240lb tackle.  Blew open holes for Mark Garrett on his way to 1,400 yards rushing.
OL THEURKAPF Jon '75 '75 6'0" 195lb guard.  Two way starter who also recorded 25 solo tackles and 22 assists on defense as a senior.
K HAWKINS Brent '74 '74 6'0" 200lb.  Also received All-City mention at offensive guard.  Set school record for career field goals--a record that has stood for 35 years.

DB PENDLETON Mike '79 78-'79 Two time All-City selection.  6'2" 170lb.  Two way starter for two seasons.  Also caught six touchdown passes during career.  Played for Indiana University.
DB SCHMIDT Jim '74 74 6'1" 175lb.  Another two way starter for two seasons.  Ranks among finest option quarterbacks ever to play for NHS.  Lots of savvy and very competitive.  Also an All-City baseball pitcher.
DB HERR Dennis '75 75 6'1" 170lb.  Yet another two way starter for two seasons.  Received All-City mention at both quarterback and defensive back.  Threw for 600 yards as a senior.  Played wide receiver as a junior and caught three long touchdown passes.
DB ANDRESS Jeff '78 77-'78 Two time All-City selection.  Like Herr before him, he played DB, WR, and QB during career, but was best at defensive back.  Also served as the Huskies place kicker for two seasons.
LB SANDERS Steve '72 71-'72 Two time All-City selection.  6'3" 200lb.  Named as an end as a junior, selected unanimously at linebacker as a senior.  Three year defensive starter for North and one of the most gifted defensive players of the decade.  Played college ball for Indiana University.
LB ADAMS Steve '79 79 5'11" 210lb three year starter.  Unanimous selection to All-City as a senior.  Also excelled as a roll-out style quarterback running wing T offense.  A sure tackler, he could diagnose almost any play and smother a run or fall into coverage with ease.
LB IRVIN Stephan '76 76 6'1" 205lb linebacker selected 1st team All-City by both newspapers in senior season.  63 solo unassisted tackles as a senior still ranks in top 5 all-time for a single season.
DL PAULSON Hank '77 77 5'11" 188lb tackle. Selected All-City by both city newspapers.
DL WILLIAMS Joe '76 75-'76 Two time All-City selection. 6'3" 245lb tackle.  Three year starter.  Played both ways but played more fluidly on defense.  Great natural reactions and physically intimidating.
DL GORE Jeff '71 71 6'0" 175lb end.  Not big as linemen go, but a great defensive player.  Seldom allowed a runner to get outside him.
DL WOODRUFF Larry '73 73 6'1" 190lb end.  Recorded 48 solo tackles as a senior--a large number for a lineman.  Forced and recoverd fumble against Mater Dei in senior season to help preserve victory.
P WILSON Kevin '77 76-'77 Two time All-City selection as a punter.  Also gained nearly 600 yards rushing as a senior.  Returned a kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown in upset of Central as a junior.
