KING |
John |

'77 |
An excellent passer. Was on his way to school's best passing season in '77
when freak injury took him out for the remainder of the season. A pocket
passer who could spray the ball around the field. Set NHS record for NCAA
passing efficiency rating with 162.0 in 1977. |

GARRETT |
Cornell |
'76 |
'75-76 |
Two time All-City selection. Held nearly every school rushing record when
he graduated--yards, touchdowns, and avg per carry for a season or a
career. Records stood for nearly 20 years. Smallish at 5'9" 142lb,
possessed blazing speed. State 220 yard dash champion. |
RB |
GARRETT |
Mark |
'79 |
'79 |
5'7" 155lb Unanimous All City selection by both papers. Not only was he
fast, he was as tough a player as there was. Took a licking against
defenses that keyed upon him and would still be breaking long runs in the
4th quarter. Six games with over 150 yards rushing in '79.
Father of Marcus Garrett--member of the 00's All Decade Team. |
WR |
GRAY |
Stoner |
'77 |
'76-'77 |
Two time All-City selection. 6'1" 170lb. Like Madriaga 17 years before, he
could score from anywhere on the field. An excellent defensive back as
well. Went on to play for Indiana University. A left handed passer with a
strong arm, was often called upon to throw on reverse plays. |
WR |
LAUER |
Brian |
'73 |
'73 |
6'0" 165lb. Two year starter. Possessed great hands. Caught 25 balls for
321 yards and 4 TD's senior season--a season in which the team went through
three quarterbacks due to injury. Without Lauer, the air game would have
died altogether. |
TE |
PENCE |
Steve |
'77 |
'77 |
6'3" 205lb target. Hauled in six touchdown passes his senior season but was
even more reknowned for his blocking skills. Two year starters managed 11
catches for 130 yards and a TD as a junior before 'busting out' the
following year. |
