Highlights included: The Huskies searched for offense almost the entire season.  RB David Stewart was counted on to provide much of the spark and he broke out for an 85 yard kickoff return for a touchdown against Castle.  He went down to injury in the season's fourth game and it wasn't until the second half of the Reitz game that North found its footing.  Trailing 14-0 at half, the Huskies came back and outscored the Panthers 12-7 in the second half on touchdown runs by RB Brad Miller and Gregg Klausmeier.

The Huskies plowed through Mater Dei for 270 yards rushing and Klausmeier led all rushers with 93 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries.  The Huskies attempted only one pass in the season's lone victory, but QB Brad Green rushed for 81 yards including a first quarter 43 yard touchdown run. Klausmeier also broke through for 100 yard games versus Central and Reitz

The biggest name for the Huskies, however, for the season was junior LB Brad Miller.  At 6'1" 180 pounds, Miller showed the kind of ball-savvy that would carry him to 66 solo tackles (good for third all time in 1983) and twice earn him All-Metro status in the Evansville Courier.  In the season's final two games Miller combined for 25 solo tackles, 9 assists, and a fumble recovery.

During the game against Owensboro Senior, Brad Green's speed was apparent to future NFL star Mark Higgs when Green was able to bring down Higgs from behind three different times during the game.  Higgs' comments in the newspapers were that no one had ever caught him more than once let alone three times.
