Highlights included: All-Everything Tailback Mark Garrett unleashes an assault on city defenses that lasts all season long.  From his breakout 32 carry, 185 carry, 3 TD night in the season opening 28-14 pasting of Castle all the way to the amazing 204 yard, 3 TD performance in the season ending 34-20 pounding of Reitz, Garrett never let up.  With six games of over 100 yards rushing, he was a unanimous All-City selection.

QB Steve Adams played both offense and defense and as good as he was behind center, his ferocious hits on defense sparked at least one victory.  His jarring tackle of a Memorial running back on the 7 yard line knocked the ball loose for Brian Perkins to recover.  Garrett put the ball in the end zone on the ensuing play for the only touchdown in the 9-0 victory over the Tigers.

Adams' favorite target on offense was another two way performer, WR/DB Mike Pendleton. He caught TD passes in three of the season's first four games and ran an interception back for a score in the waning seconds of the Huskies' 20-6 win over Mater Dei to preserve the victory.

Most indicative of North's strong offensive line was it's ability to manhandle highly rated Bosse and ruin the Bulldogs dreams of a playoff berth.  The Huskies shut out their rivals 18-0 without ever completing a pass in the game.  Adams went 0-3 on passing attempts as Chris McCaslin and Steve Garrett opened up holes that allowed for over 256 yards rushing.  Four different ball carriers each averaged over 5 yards per carry on 10 carries or more in the game.

DEFENSE--2 pts each for solo, cause or recover fumble, sack, int, blk kick; 1 pt each for assist and tackle for loss
