BOARD DOMINANCE AND DEFENSE DRIVE HUSKIES TO 59-38 WIN OVER BRAVES

Led by senior Alex English's 12 rebounds and 4 blocked shots, the North Huskies dominated the Terre Haute South Vigo Braves in a 59-38 victory.  On a night when Husky Arena hosted three games (the girls JayVee team won, the boys JayVee team spanked the Braves by 44 points, and the varsity won big), an event honoring Barb Fellwock's 37 years as cheer coach, and the Winter Homecoming Court, North came away winners across all measures. 

In the Varsity game, the Huskies owned the backboards out rebounding South Vigo 40-24 and only allowing the visitors three offensive rebounds in the game.  Four different Huskies block shots in the game and North stole the ball nine times.  The defensive dominance was enough to allow the Huskies to break a three game losing skid.  Bryson Chapman's all-round play produced 18 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, a blocked shot, and a steal.

In the JayVee game, sophomores Brayden Egli and Greg Pieterek combined for an amazing 50 points.  Pieterek set the pace with 13 in the first quarter and Egli brough the house down with 16 in the final stanza and 24 total in the second half.
