HUSKIES SAVE 'BEST GAME' FOR FINALE IN 72-66 WIN OVER VINCENNES LINCOLN

The Huskies entered Friday night's game a decided underdog against Vincennes Lincoln.  The Alices had already beaten local powerhouses Bosse and Memorial and figured to steamroll their way out of Evansville.  North, however, saved their best game of the season for the finale and picked up their tenth win by a score of 72-66.

North built a lead of 34-23 late in the first half on the strength of hot shooting by senior Cameron Seaton.  Sophomore Kolten Sanford found his range after intermission and drained a pair of three point shots to help push North to a 58-49 lead after three quarters of play.  In the end, however, it fell to junior D.J. Redding to hold off a late charge by the Alices.

In the game's waning minutes, the Huskies missed the front end of a pair of one-and-one free throws.  When Lincoln hit a three point after the first miss and then hustled back following the second for an easy lay up, the lead was cut to just four points.  Vincennes stayed with their foul strategy but unfortunately, for them, they made the mistake of fouling Redding.  The junior drew nothing but net on all four of his free throws over two possessions and those points put the game out of reach and assured the victory.
