TOUGH CHOICES HAUNT HUSKIES IN 18-12 OVERTIME LOSS
A fateful decision to 'go for two' with 4:48 to play came back to haunt the Huskies in an 18-12 overtime loss to Harrison. Following Dylan McKinney's second touchdown of the game and leading 12-6, North chose to attempt a two point conversion run rather than attempt a kick--a first quarter extra point kick had failed. The ball carrier was stopped short of the goal line and North's lead stood at 12-6.
When the Warriors scored in the game's final minute, junior Tyler Gilman stopped a Harrison runner short of the goal line on a two point attempt and regulation time ended with the two team's tied at 12.
Harrison scored on the first play of overtime to make the score 18-12. North made four attempts at a score, but a fourth down and one quarterback sneak failed to cross the goal line and the Warriors won 18-12. Kicker Alex Ozette had entered the game with a career record of having made 5 out of 6 extra points as well as kicked a field goal earlier this season.
