Game Recap

HUSKIES BEATEN BY PRINCETON 21-7

The first game of the Paridaen-era at North High School got off to a rough start with a 21-7 loss to Princeton.  The Tigers mored than doubled the Huskies in time of possession and number of plays run from scrimmage as they jumped out to a 21-0 lead.

The bright spot of the evening for North came after Princeton's third score.  Dylan McKinney fielded the ensuing kickoff at the 11 yard line and stormed straight up the middle of the field.

Senior Braylen Neighbors laid out the first would-be tackler near the 25 yard line and then McKinney made short work of the last defender in his way at about the 40 yard line.  Dropping his shoulder and administering a blow to the tackler's chest cleared the field of Tigers and the junior running back turned on his speed as he raced to his right into clear space. His 89 yard touchdown return was the longest by a North player since 2011.

North had a chance to score in the second quarter after McKinney recovered a muffed punt by Princeton.  The Huskies took the ball and drove to the Tiger one yard line before stalling out on a fourth and goal play that gained no yards.

A late second quarter opportunity to score was wasted when a Husky receiver fumbled the ball out of the end zone following a 40 yard reception at the Princeton five yard line.  It was the only turnover of the night for North but it was costly.

The Huskies play at Henderson County this coming Friday night.  The Colonels have won the last eight contests between the two schools although three consecutive contests from 2012 to 2014 were decided in the game's waning minutes.
