INCREDIBLE DEFENSE PUTS HUSKIES ON TOP OF BEARS 74-67
Pitted against an undefeated Butler County (KY) Bears
squad that featured one of Kentucky's finest guards, the North Huskies Boys
Basketball team found themselves trailing by 10 points with under four minutes
to play in the Bosse Winter Classic. From that point forward, however, the
Huskies put on a Text-Book display of pressure defense and defensive rebounding
to stop the Bears from scoring until North had delivered 8 unanswered points.
Repeatedly Cayden Gelhausen received the ball with his back to the basket
down low in the paint and schooled the Butler big men on how to put the ball in
the bucket. Bryson Chapman buried a three and Brayden Huebner drew
foul after foul after foul as he drove the bucket. Huebner ended up making 12 of
16 free throws and the defense of Keamare Barnes and Seab Johnson
on the Butler County guard down the stretch was tenacious. The Huskies pulled
out a 74-67 VICTORY to raise their season record to 3-2.
Gelhausen led Husky scorers with 18 points, Huebner scored 16, and
Barnes added 11.
