ICE COLD HUSKIES DROP DECISION TO REITZ 49-37

North's season ended with a 17% shooting performance from three point range in a Sectional Semi-Final loss to eventual tournament champion Reitz.  Worth noting was the "bush league" play by Reitz in which one of their players upended North senior Chandler Moore as he streaked to the basket for an uncontested lay-up.  With North trailing by just four points and only four minutes to play, Moore stole the ball and was driving to the basket.  A Reitz player trailed from behind and, in a desperation attempt to prevent the leaping Moore from scoring, drove underneath the Husky, flipped him upside down and onto his face.  As Moore lay on the ground, having lost two teeth as a result of the blatantly flagrant foul, the Reitz player celebrated his success at preventing the certain basket.

In a decision that represented an unspeakable lack-of-awareness, the referees conferred and determined the Reitz player had made a "basketball move" to prevent the basket and ruled the play a 'regular foul' rather than either an intentional foul or technical foul.  Instead of two free throws for the shooting foul, two more for the intentional, and the ball out with 3:30 to play, a 'cold' player was inserted into the lineup for Moore--bloodied and dazed by his fall to the floor--and only one free throw was made.  Reitz got the ball out and the game went on--without Moore.

The 'basketball move' could only be considered a basketball move if it were completed on a grid-iron somewhere on the west side of Evansville.
