BUZZER BEATING THREE GIVES HUSKIES THRILLING 48-47 WIN OVER NEW ALBANY

A last second three point shot from the corner by junior Delavian Crenshaw lifted the Huskies over New Albany 48-47.  The victory marked North's first win over the Bulldogs in nine tries dating back to a 61-47 win on the road in January of 2012.  Four different times in the game's final 40 seconds, the Huskies had the ball out from the side trailing by two points. 

Because the officials had only whistled the home team Bulldogs for a single foul in the game's first three-and-a-half periods, New Albany was able to foul the Huskies on the inbound pass before they could set up for a shot to tie or take the lead.  Having just one foul against them, the Bulldog defenders kept North from shooting without fear of sending the Huskies to the free throw line.

After the third such tactic, the Huskies inbounded the ball with just 2.5 seconds on the clock from in front of their own bench.  As the defenders converged, the ball was quickly diverted with a tap to Crenshaw.  With his feet square under him, he arced a high rainbow trajectory shot that found nothing but net.  The Husky bench, located directly behind the shooter, mobbed him as the buzzer went off to celebrate North's biggest road win in years.

The Huskies trailed 45-35 with five minutes to play but sophomore Ryan Caddell began a barrage of shots that brought North roaring back.  In the span of just two minutes, Caddell buried a pair of threes and hit a running two to pull the Huskies within two points of the lead with under a minute to play.  Crenshaw's made basket as the buzzer went off provided North with its only lead of the game.  Junior Dom Redding led North in scoring with 12 points.
