HUSKIES RUN THE FLOOR TO VICTORY WITH 3RD QUARTER SURGE OVER TIGERS
Taking a page out of the book from the previous game against Terre Haute South, North broke open a tight game with eleven unanswered points early in the third quarter on their way to a 71-56 victory over the Memorial Tigers. A pair of three point baskets by senior Damar Young sandwiched a five point "beast mode" streak by 'Big' Mike Johnson. Following Young's first three of the second half, Johnson stole the ball, drove the distance of the court for a lay-in, drew a foul, hit the free throw, then blocked a shot, and ran the floor for a breakaway lay-in. Johnson then pulled down a rebound on a missed shot and whipped the ball out to Young who drew nothing but net from three point range.
The Huskies never looked back from that point on their way to a 15 point blow out.
Young led North in scoring with 21 points and Johnson added 13 to go with his 8 rebounds.
In the Jayvee game, the Huskies lost a double overtime battle 40-38.
