2nd QUARTER EXPLOSION PROPELS HUSKIES TO 71-55 VICTORY OVER BRAVES
Breaking open a tight game early in the second quarter, North's defense overwhelmed the Terre Haute South Braves and led to 19 consecutive second quarter points. The Huskies held the Braves to just six shots from the field in the second stanza and stole the ball seven times on their way to a 71-55 victory.
Senior guard Jaylen Chambers nailed six three-point shots on his way to 25 points for the night as the Huskies broke a five game losing streak to the Braves. Chambers' explosion boosted him to number 11 on the North All Time Points Scored list with 866. He needs just two points to catch #10 Glenn Dockery ('68-'70) and seven points surpass Husky-Hall-Of-Famer Blake English ('98-'00) for ninth place.
Senior center 'Big' Mike Johnson pulled down nine rebounds to give him 428 for his career and move him into #12 All Time. Sophomore Robert West led all the 'pick-pockets' with a team season high SIX steals during the game.
