NORTH WINS CLASH WITH TITANS 82-48
The Huskies blew open their game with Gibson Southern in the second quarter and then streaked ahead to an 82-48 victory. Senior Drew Watters entered the game with 7 minutes to play in the first half and drew nothing but net on his first four shots on his way to a 22 point performance. The Huskies led by 21 at half and never looked back. Hot shooting allowed North to have their way with the outmanned Titans--the Huskies hit 9 of 16 three point shots and shot 61% overall for the night.
North's defense in the back court overwhelmed Gibson Southern's guards and the Titans were held to just 31% shooting. Husky guards combined for 7 steals and many of them led to break away dunks. Center Brock Underwood enjoyed his best game of the season on both ends of the court--adding 12 points and 8 rebounds. Jaylen Chambers' 18 points were near his season average of 19.2 per game and freshman CJ Hedgepath dealt out 11 assists.
In the Jayvee game, junior Ryan Gulledge poured in 18 points to lead the Huskies to a 41-26 victory. In a game that saw the Husky defense holding Gibson Southern to just "4" points in the first half, sophomore Dylan Mulherrin and freshman DeMarshaun Sherman both grabbed 8 rebounds.
